Terms of Service
Sentinel Terms of Service
Version: 2026-10b Effective: 22 October 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
Sentinel is a monitoring service run by Israel Oseghale, trading as IsDevOps Pro ("we", "us"), in Nigeria. You can reach us at info@isdevopro.com.
We are not yet a registered company. When we become one, we will move Sentinel to that company and tell you before we do (see section 14). Until then these terms are an agreement between you and us as described above.
These terms are an agreement between us and the organisation that creates a Sentinel account ("you"). If you sign up for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to bind it to these terms.
By creating an account, installing our agent, or using Sentinel, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Sentinel.
2. What Sentinel does
Sentinel watches the systems you choose to connect and tells you when something needs attention. Depending on what you connect, it can:
• check that a website or API is reachable and how fast it responds;
• collect measurements from your servers (CPU, memory, disk, running containers, open network ports, web traffic summaries and container logs) through a small program we call the agent;
• read the health, security settings and, on plans that include it, the spend of your cloud accounts, using read-only access that you grant and can remove at any time;
• raise alerts by Telegram, by email, and to a Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord or webhook address that you provide;
• explain an alert in plain language using an AI service, which receives the alert text and related technical details whenever an alert is raised or someone asks for an explanation;
• produce reports about how your systems performed;
• let you ask our team for help and see the answers in the portal.
We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you in advance and, where you have prepaid, let you cancel and refund the unused part of the current month.
3. Important limits on what Sentinel is
Please read this section carefully.
Monitoring is not a guarantee. Sentinel can miss a problem, be late, or raise a false alarm. Alerts depend on your servers, networks, our own systems, and services we rely on (for example Telegram, Slack and email delivery) all working. You stay responsible for running your systems. Do not rely on Sentinel as your only safeguard for anything safety-critical or where a missed alert could cause serious harm.
No uptime promise. We aim to keep Sentinel available, but we do not promise a particular level of availability.
Compliance self-assessments are not approvals. If you use the optional compliance self-assessment feature, the results compare what Sentinel measures, and what you tell us, against published requirements. They are not a legal opinion, an audit, a certification, or an approval by any authority. A "no gaps found" result does not mean you comply with the law, and requirements change.
AI explanations can be wrong. Explanations of alerts are generated by an AI model from the alert text and related technical data. Check them before you act on them.
Scanning only what you may scan. You may only add systems, domains and addresses that you own or are authorised to monitor or test.
Security checks are not an audit. Sentinel looks for common, well-understood mistakes. It is not a penetration test, an audit or a certification, it cannot find every weakness, and a clean result does not mean your systems are secure. A penetration test is separate work, quoted and agreed in writing first.
Cloud access is read-only. The access you give us to a cloud account is for reading information. We do not change, start, stop or delete anything in your cloud account.
4. Your account
Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
Keep your password and any two-factor device secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been misused.
The person who signs the organisation up is its owner and controls what is monitored, billing, and who has access. People the owner or our team invites can have more limited, read-only access.
You must be at least 18 and have authority to act for your organisation.
5. Installing the agent and connecting systems
By adding a system, and especially by installing the agent on a server or giving us access to a cloud account, you:
• confirm you are allowed to do so, including where the server or account belongs to your client or an employer;
• authorise us to collect the measurements described in section 2 from that system;
• accept that the agent runs on your infrastructure at your risk, and that you should test it as you would any software before using it on production systems. You can remove the agent, or the cloud access, at any time.
You are responsible for what your own systems and logs contain. Container logs and traffic summaries can include personal information (for example names, email addresses or IP addresses that your applications write to logs). Do not send us more than you need. Section 9 explains how we handle it.
6. Free trial, price and payment
Trial. New self-serve accounts get a free trial of 14 days with the system limit shown on our pricing page. No payment card is taken to start. When the trial ends, monitoring pauses unless you subscribe. We keep your data while paused (see section 11).
Price. The price of each plan, and how many systems it includes, is the one shown on our website pricing page and in your portal's billing page at the time you pay. Prices are in naira. We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next paid month. Prices are shown excluding taxes such as VAT.
How payment works. Payments are taken online through our payment provider, Paystack. We do not see or store your card details. A month's service starts when payment is confirmed. Paying while a trial is running starts your first paid month when the trial ends, so you do not lose trial days.
Renewal. We do not charge you automatically. A few days before a paid month ends we email you an invoice with a payment link, and we email again if it lapses. You pay each month yourself.
Changing plan. You can choose any plan, and move to a higher one whenever you like. If you move up during a month you have already paid for, you pay the difference in price for the days left in that month, and the higher plan starts when payment is confirmed. A lower plan is chosen when you pay for your next month and starts when that month begins. You can only move to a plan whose system limit covers the systems you are monitoring. We do not refund a month you have paid for because you move to a lower plan.
Late or missed payment. If a paid month ends and you have not paid for the next one, monitoring and alerts pause until you pay.
Refunds. Payments are not refundable once the month has started, except where we failed to provide the service for the month you paid for, or the law requires it.
Work outside the subscription. Help with your monitored systems is part of your subscription. If you ask for larger work outside that (for example migrating a database), we will send a written quote. Nothing is charged unless the account owner accepts the quote. On acceptance a 40% deposit is payable first. If we then do not do the work, the deposit is refunded. The balance is due when the work is done.
7. Support
You can send requests to our team through the portal. We aim to reply promptly on business days, but we do not promise a response or fix time. Support covers your monitored systems and Sentinel itself. It does not include building or running your applications unless we agree that in writing as paid work (section 6).
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
• add systems or domains you do not own or are not authorised to test;
• use Sentinel to attack, probe, overload or gain unauthorised access to any system, or to scan others' systems;
• try to get around limits, security controls or rate limits, or access another customer's data;
• upload malicious code or use Sentinel to break the law;
• point an alert destination at an address you do not control;
• resell Sentinel, or use it to build a competing service, without our written agreement;
• share your account in a way that avoids paying for additional organisations.
We may suspend or limit an account straight away if we reasonably believe it is being used in breach of this section, puts others at risk, or threatens the security of Sentinel. Where we can, we will tell you why.
9. Your data and privacy
Your data stays yours. You keep all rights in the data you and your systems send to Sentinel ("customer data"). You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, process and display it, to produce alerts and reports, and to give you support.
Our role. For personal information that sits inside customer data (for example in logs), you decide why and how it is used (you are the "controller" under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023) and we act on your instructions (we are the "processor"). For information about you as a user of Sentinel (your name, email, sign-in and billing details), we are the controller. Our Privacy Notice at https://www.isdevopro.com/privacy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
Where data is kept. Sentinel is hosted with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in South Africa (Johannesburg). Backups are stored there too. This means customer data is processed outside Nigeria.
Service providers we use. To run Sentinel we use providers that may handle some data: Oracle Cloud (hosting and backups), Paystack (payments), Resend (email), Telegram (alerts you choose to receive there), Groq (the AI explanations, which receive alert text and related technical details), and Netlify (the web app). The Privacy Notice lists them and what each receives.
How long we keep it. Detailed measurements are kept for a limited time: container logs for about 7 days, and traffic summaries, open-port records and process records for about 14 days. Account details, alert history, invoices and assessment results are kept while you have an account and afterwards as set out in section 11.
Security. We protect data with access controls, encryption of stored credentials and alert addresses, separate access for each organisation, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you without undue delay, and within 72 hours where the law requires.
Helping you comply. We will give you reasonable help to respond to data-subject requests and regulators about data we hold for you.
10. Our intellectual property
Sentinel, including the agent, the portal, the design of reports, and our documentation, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription for your organisation's own purposes. You may not copy, reverse engineer or sell it, except where the law allows.
You may keep and share the reports Sentinel produces for you, including with auditors, regulators and your own customers, as long as you do not present a self-assessment as a certification or approval (see section 3).
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by not renewing, or by asking us to close the account. Closing does not refund a month already paid for, except as section 6 says.
We can end or suspend the service if you breach these terms and do not fix it within 7 days of our notice, if you do not pay, if the law requires it, or straight away under section 8.
What happens to your data. After a trial ends or a subscription lapses, we keep your data so you can come back. We do not delete it automatically. If you ask us to close your account or delete your data, we will delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except what we must keep by law (for example invoices and tax records, kept for 6 years). Our database backups are copies kept for a limited time: daily copies for about a week and monthly copies for up to 12 months, after which they are overwritten. So deleted data can remain in a backup for up to 12 months. It is not restored to the live service, and it is not used for anything else.
Sections that by their nature should continue (including 3, 9, 10, 12, 13 and 14) survive the end of the agreement.
12. Our responsibility to you
We will provide Sentinel with reasonable skill and care.
Except for liability that the law does not allow us to limit (for example for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence), we are not liable for: loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data; the cost of replacing services; or indirect or consequential loss. This includes loss caused by an alert that did not arrive, was late, or was wrong.
Our total liability to you for everything arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
These limits are part of the price you pay. If you need more cover, talk to us before you rely on Sentinel.
You are responsible for losses and claims that arise from your breach of section 8, from systems or data you had no right to connect, and from personal information you send to us without a lawful basis.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email the account owner and show a notice in the portal at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using Sentinel after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop and, if you have prepaid, we will refund the unused part of your current month. We record which version of the terms you accepted and when.
14. General
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Disputes. We will first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussion for 30 days. If that fails, the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account and show important ones in the portal. You can contact us at info@isdevopro.com.
Whole agreement. These terms, the Privacy Notice and any written quote you accepted are the whole agreement between us about Sentinel.
If part is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
Moving to a company. We plan to register a company and move Sentinel to it. When we do, we will tell the account owner by email at least 30 days before, and the company will take over our rights and duties under these terms, including your data and any time you have prepaid. If you do not want to move, you can close your account and, if you have prepaid, we will refund the unused part of your current month. You may not transfer your own account to another organisation without our consent.
Events beyond our control (for example power or internet failure, provider outages, or government action) do not count as our breach.
